Elm Hurst Inn & Spa Restaurant

A Southwestern Ontario landmark since 1872, our Victorian mansion restaurant served as the personal residence of the James Harris family for more than a century. Built in the Gothic Revival style, this historic property holds a special place in our region’s heritage.

The Harris family were pioneers of the Canadian cheese industry, erecting Ingersoll District’s first cheese factory on our grounds in 1865. They later planted commercial apple orchards on our property, and our vaulted buffet room once served as an apple shed. Today, we continue their legacy of excellence with exceptional dining experiences in this beautifully preserved setting.

Breakfast:

Daily, 7:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.

Lunch:

Mon-Sat, 11:00am to 2:00pm

Dinner:

Daily, 5:00pm to 9:00pm
Meet Maître Cuisiniers de France Chef Philippe Coeurdassier

A French Tradition, a Global Vision

More then two years at the Elm Hurst Inn, a lifetime of culinary inspiration. Chef Philippe was born in France and developed his culinary skills in Michelin-starred restaurants under the guidance of the legendary Chef Guy Savoy. Although he loved every moment in France, his adventurous spirit took him around the world—gaining diverse culinary insights—before he eventually settled in London, Ontario, with his family.

For more then two years, Chef Philippe has been leading the culinary team at the Elm Hurst Inn, believing firmly in leading by example. “When the staff see me working, they feel motivated to work too,” he explains. A talented pastry chef as well, he takes pride in sharing the techniques he’s mastered, helping his team grow in skill and confidence.

Recently recognized as a Maître Cuisiniers de France—one of the highest honors in French gastronomy—Chef Philippe is still motivated by his ultimate dream: earning a place in the Michelin Guide. “It would be a proud moment for everyone here,” he shares. While striving for excellence, he remains dedicated to crafting new menus and nurturing a collaborative, inspiring kitchen culture. “I have a great team, and the Elm Hurst Inn already feels like home,” he adds.
